Our testing process is designed to give you the most accurate, helpful reviews possible. Here's how we do it.
Our Testing Philosophy
We believe reviews should be based on real-world experience, not first impressions or manufacturer claims. That's why we use every product we review extensively before sharing our thoughts.
Our minimum testing period is 2 weeks for consumables and 4 weeks for durable goods like shoes and accessories. For some products, we test for 6 months or longer to assess long-term durability and performance.
The Testing Process
Product Selection
We research the market to identify products worth reviewing. We prioritize products that are popular, innovative, or fill a gap in the vegan market. We purchase most products ourselves to ensure unbiased reviews.
Vegan Verification
Before testing begins, we verify that the product is truly vegan. This includes analyzing ingredient lists, checking for certifications, and contacting brands directly when needed. Products that don't meet our vegan standards are not reviewed.
Extended Testing
We use products in real-world conditions. Sneakers are worn daily, skincare is used as directed, and food products are incorporated into regular meals. We document our experiences throughout the testing period.
Evaluation & Scoring
After testing, we evaluate products based on category-specific criteria. We consider performance, value, sustainability, and overall user experience. Our 5-star rating system reflects our honest assessment.
Review & Updates
We write comprehensive reviews detailing our findings. We also update reviews when products change or when we have new long-term insights. Every review includes a "last tested" date for transparency.
